For the Milan Design Week ’19 Inside Outside imagined a green installation for the Aēsop store. Aēsop, brand of organic skincare products, located in the heart of the Brera Design District, asked our landscape and interior teams to bring in a botanic experience from the Biblioteca degli Alberi, the new park in central Milan designed by Inside Outside.

For a week the three store’s windows have housed a selection of young trees, chosen among the species featured in the Library of trees. The trees were planted in overflowing terrariums, in strong contrast with the store’s neatness. In collaboration with Matteo Brioni, Inside Outside has created a new texture of soil and clay to realise a stratigraphy for a micro-landscape which will be completely given back to a new life after the installation. Infact, the trees have been donated to a local association that helps single mothers and the soil and clay will be re-used for new architecture projects.
