FÖRENA is an island of calm at the convergence of Downtown Manhattan’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Located at the northeast corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue, the new condominium building anchors the intersection with a robust structure imbued with subtle complexity and quality materials.

Construction is nearing completion on FÖRENA, a luxury multifamily building MA designed at 540 Sixth Avenue at the crossroads of Chelsea, Greenwich Village, and Flatiron. All scaffolding has been removed, revealing a warm brick base façade with upward cascading terraces leading to a metal-clad crown. The crown volume is defined by a channeled column and beam arrangement with expressed framed windows, all of aluminum composite material, which reappears as chamfered window surrounds within the base volume’s fenestration.

Within, the 12-story building yields 50 condos featuring a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units—several of which benefit from private outdoor space created by the stepped edges along the upper stories. For the unit interiors, inspiration was gathered from the Scandinavian design ethos to create warm and comforting spaces with a restrained palette. Oversized floor-to-ceiling windows and fluid layouts result in spacious, light-filled homes that can accommodate and accentuate any lifestyle. FÖRENA's penthouse units feature even larger proportions, higher ceilings, and private terraces off the primary bedrooms.

Interior materials were carefully considered to achieve a serene, refined ambiance. Hardwood flooring can be found throughout all units. Kitchens feature Calacatta marble, Italian cabinetry that has been hand-finished by artisans outside of Venice, and Miele appliances.

Primary bathrooms feature a soothing palette of Calacatta and Montagna D’Argento marble, bespoke vanities with oil-rubbed bronze hardware, and brushed nickel Zucchetti plumbing fixtures from Italy.
