Homm Dessert
The client’s vision is to create a
Thai-inspired dessert café
that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity, serving as an extension of their successful legacy in Melbourne. With the launch of their first store in Sydney, the goal is to retain the charm and aesthetic essence of their existing café while introducing fresh design elements that capture the spirit and vibrancy of Sydney’s unique character.

One of the key challenges of this site is working with the existing columns and addressing areas with lower ceiling heights. Our approach was to
seamlessly integrate the structural columns
into the overall design, transforming them into intentional, well-thought-out details. While these columns do not necessarily align with the operational requirements, we have reimagined them as a design feature—enhanced with intricate details that celebrate and highlight their presence rather than seeing them as constraints.

The Ribbon
, inspired by Simone Signoret’s quote:

Thai desserts into the fabric of Sydney
. More than just a decorative element,

symbolises the interweaving of people, cultures, and flavours. Its flowing movement reflects the brand’s continuous evolution, while the elegance of its form represents the novelty and artistry of Homm’s signature creations.
As individuals
experience the magic of Homm,
they become threads in this vibrant tapestry, sharing moments of
joy, connection, and indulgence
. The addition of a
sandstone finish
to the Haymarket store pays homage to Sydney’s rich historical character, grounding the design in a sense of place while making it distinctly unique.
