ASSIGNMENT

RENOVATION OF STA.VE.CO FORMER MILITARY COMPOUND, BOLOGNA 2014

The project reconstructs the original layout bringing to light the inner court through the elimination of an added roof. The court duplicates and continues ideally the function of socialization, and is located as the multifunctional heart of the entire block of buildings. The remaining structure of the two buildings is preserved and restored, organizing the spaces around the new open court. The subdivision of the spaces is very regular and it is realized by inserting wooden supporting walls, replacing the trusses. A series of rooms, each enclosed in two new sects, articulate along the perimeter of the court.
