As a Background, and as an Iconic Place

A showroom of a furniture and sanitary products supplier in Singapore.This was the first planning and basic design project for a foreign local company, since the establishment of the Field Four Design Office. We pondered how a brick and mortar showroom should be in a time when people can buy everything online. The project was conducted through consideration of how to present the central player (products) in a background space (adjustment of scale), and how to create an iconic space suitable to the place (mediagenic such as SNS and impacts lingering as customers' experiences and in their memories). It also involved close communications with the Indonesian owner, and German and Italian staff member

背景として、アイコニックな場所として

シンガポール中心部からほど近い、家具とサニタリーを扱うサプライヤーのショールーム。フィールドフォー・デザインオフィス設立以降初めての海外ローカル企業からの企画・基本デザインの依頼。インターネットで何でも買える時代における実店舗ショールームとはいかにあるべきかを考えた。空間を背景として、主役である商品をいかに見せるかという事（スケールの調整）と、アイコニックでありその場所らしい空間（SNS等メディア映えする事、カスタマーの体験や記憶に残るインパクト）をいかに作るかという事を考え、インドネシア人のオーナー、ドイツ人とイタリア人スタッフとの密なコミュニケーションにより、プロジェクトを進めた。
