Spawton Architecture has been awarded a contract for an urban river park in Kwun Tong as part of a team together with engineers Atkins China and landscape architects Scenic Landscape Studio.

The project forms part of the government initiative to regenerate Kowloon East into a new CPD for the city. The project focuses on transforming an existing nullah into a vibrant public space.

Spawton’s scope includes all the architectural features in the project including six new footbridges, renovation of an existing bridge, pavilions, ancillary buildings and a management office.

The project is currently in the detailed design phase and is due for completion in 2023.
