Architecture has to react to an increase in popularity of eSports. How will an arena, which typology is purpose-build for requirements of eSport games and operates based on the most modern technology that comes along with eSports and the future of world´s development? COMBO eSport Arena is a concept design for an idea how future eSport arena could look like and on what principles it could operate. The focus is on modularity and along with it flexibility, innovation, virtual and augmented reality, future of eSport and technologies as Metaverse, Hyundai PBV, automated systems and AI control of the building.

Augmented Reality (AR): there have always been games in AR so what’s gonna be different in the future? The competitive level of it and its ability to merge Athletics with Gaming.

Virtual Reality (VR): The development of equipment for VR and dealing with its lack in motoric sensations along with using haptic suits will make VR more accesible and usable and break more into a competitive scene of eSports.

Neuralink Brain Implant: Elon Musk’s Neuralink will connect a brain to the computer providing a so called full-dive experience. Possible future is spectating the eSports and being inside a game though a brain implant.

Designing for the future that is happening:

AR is already used in sport and eSport events for broadcasting purposes.
