Client’s wish

In Amsterdam, two apartments were joined into one residence to serve as a pied-à-terre and an office. The client, who was familiar with Kabaz through previous projects, sought to work together in the same recognisable, personal atmosphere to create a living room with international allure, an office that feels like a second home and a bedroom that give you the feeling of being in a hotel suite.

The interpretation of these wishes was first presented in a sketch intended as a starting point for designing a total experience. A number of existing elements have been updated and preserved in the design. The most important intervention was the positioning of the kitchen as a connecting element between the living and working areas and special attention has been paid to the sight lines in the apartment to optimise the view of the city.
