The Umstead Hotel and Spa, a Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond Award recipient, has established itself as one of North Carolina’s premier destinations for wellness and relaxation. Consistently recognized among the top spas in the state, it has become synonymous with refined hospitality, where guests seek both rejuvenation and transformation through a wide range of therapies and treatments.

ForrestPerkins was engaged to lead a comprehensive renovation of the spa, expanding and enhancing its offerings to align with the hotel’s reputation for sophistication. The redesign introduced new features such as a Himalayan salt wall, heated relaxation loungers, and an expanded co-ed lounge adjacent to the pool, cultivating an atmosphere of inclusivity and tranquility. Treatment rooms, wet-therapy zones, and the nail salon were thoughtfully revitalized to balance function with elegance, ensuring each space contributes to the spa’s serene guest journey.

Outdoors, wellness and leisure were extended with the addition of a yoga lawn, a secluded relaxation sanctuary, and an enlarged pool deck, offering guests new opportunities to immerse themselves in restorative experiences. Together, these enhancements reinforce The Umstead Spa’s position as a leading destination for holistic wellness, carrying forward its legacy of excellence while setting a new standard for contemporary spa design.
