Little House, Big Shade

This house for a couple creates a large canopy between two volumes to maximize the indoor, outdoor living experience. Set on a deep wash with lush landscape, the three distinct parts of the house open up to the desert environment and distant mountain peaks.  Inspiration from the couple’s love of Bali and living outdoors formed the open scheme in a lush desert setting complete with an outdoor kitchen, suspended daybed from the structure above, and built-in seating between different levels under the large shaded canopy.
