Let‘s try to imagine the architecture that grows out of the ground in the form of roots in several years. We are able to control its surface structure, ruggedness, robustness in case of higher load, or even aesthetics. The result can be a monolith in the form of a single object, or a whole developed city, objectively reacting to the surrounding conditions or to the demands of their users. Thanks to such a vision, we could create cities in the future simply by „planting the tree“.

Work on this task has been partly developed since last semester. It was the optimization of the growth of the upper part as a the shading geometry, which was to be at the same time inner space in the first phase. Later, I had to make step back within more specific requirements, since it would not be possible to integrate the desired operating space into such a construction.

In this semester I focused on the combination of the integration of the operating space into the object and its logic of the form. Then I technically documented both of them in drawings and basic design schemes.

The shape of the lower part of the pavilion was created by the following process. Bsicly, at first I defined the basic required spaces (input data) that I tried to make the variants of their interconnections in different compositions. Then I combined these compositions with a simulating visitor movement that gave me a solid geometry in the form of curves which is combined with the decoding spaces system. The result of these geometries was the base for ground plan sketches, which were a kind of backgroud for creating the pavilion's geometry.

On some examples I tried to apply various simulations of the processes of growing geometries in several phases. In the first phase, the supporting geometry, in the second the overall geometry. This generated variant, then I connected into to one logic, with upper part, which was designed in previous semester.

The model of its structure is very well suited to the use of the main promoted subject, which is SAWER technology, which creates the water from the humid air. This technology, I tried to project into the form of pavilion. Created pavilion is not only visually based on the principles of growth but also technologically. So we can say that the resulting form is not a compromise but a maximization of the effects of technology
