We have made the design for an extension and complete modernization of a mid-century villa in Rotterdam Kralingen.

The main intervention is an extension on the ground floor on three sides of the house. De living room is now oriented at the street. With the extension, the dining room and open kitchen will be enlarged and opened up to the garden. The 1 meter height difference will be taken in two steps with a lowered dining space and terrace. The extension is designed with a large glass façade for lots of daylight and a direct connection with the garden.

The existing part of the house will be modernized to meet with today’s standards in comfort and energy consumption. The façade will be insulated and window frames will be replaced.

With these interventions the house will be comfortable, energy efficient and it will look bright new.
