Forum Duisburg

FORUM DUISBURG 2008 — The Forum Duisburg, together with the Mercator halls vis-à-vis, create the new centre of Duisburg. This novel kind of urban shopping centre relocates the sequence of houses, streets, and smaller squares inside, under a roof, thus creating the density and atmosphere that one would generally experience in our inner-city areas. The large glass entrance opens onto Königstraße, a glass-covered ring road that leads past the houses, with a steel market hall at the centre: a dense plethora of shops covers four stories.
