Phase I

The site in Damastown Close, Damastown Industrial Park, Mulhuddart, Dublin contains a proposed medical device injection moulding facility of total gross floor area 5,600 sq.m.

As Planning permission had already been achieved, the building design, in particular the exterior was fixed. Hence the focus of this project was mainly interior design development and execution.

Project procurement was a design and build process with a very ambitious programme…post planning to completion of less than 12 months. The building consisted of a 14m high box or volume containing ISO Class 7 manufacturing spaces, ancillary spaces and warehousing, with a 2 storey wrap around office building to the front. The total GFA was 5,450 sqm and the delivery of the project included full site development.

The success of the project was assisted greatly by a very integrated and collaborative team effort, where agreed objectives and a high level of communication was key.

Phase II

Development of two storey extension (472sqm), to the front of the existing West Pharma building, to provide for a development centre for the existing medical device injection moulding facility.

The new extension accommodates laboratory space and clean rooms at ground floor and additional office floor space at first floor.

The extension is constructed using curtain walling glazing with selected spandrel panels and is framed with aluminium rain screen cladding, The curtain wall glazing is broken up with projecting vertical aluminium fins.
