Working with Landon Bone Baker, the Preservation of Affordable Housing, the City of Chicago, and the active Woodlawn community,

site

designed socially and ecologically responsible landscape elements for the new 5-story, 65-unit residential building for seniors. The building is the third phase of the Section 8 Grove Parc Plaza redevelopment along South Cottage Grove Avenue. Site features include lush streetscape plantings, entrance seating areas, a permeable parking lot, and a private courtyard for residents. The courtyard features community garden planters, a shaded trellis structure, ample seating opportunities, and beautiful, four-season, native plantings.
