Suvela urban renewal

The 70’s suburb is Suvela has a poor image and native Finns are increasingly moving out from the area. We connected the study area to nearby Espoon keskus center with a new pedestrian bridge encouraging light traffic instead of private car. Parking that used to dominate city scape is hidden under green courtyard decks. Space structure is more defined and owner-occupied flats are added to balance the social structure as well. Special attention was paid to encourage the sense of community on the area.
