Design of the Parking Hill Expo Vallei

LvV designed a parking hill with 12.000 parking places facilitating Expo Valley in Xianyang. The Parking Hill consists of a cylindrical core from where vehicles can find their way to the surrounding parking areas. On the outside of the core area ramps provide access to the upper floors. On the inside four shortcuts provide a quick connection to the exit. The parking segments are separated by corridors that offer both the fire escape routes to the edge of the parking hill and access to the lowest level from where the monumental pedestrian entrance can be reached. In the open space of the core hangs a luminous mesh that refers to the textile heritage of the city.
