Los Angeles LGBT Center, Hollywood, CA
The dynamic architectural forms that comprise the Anita May Rosenstein Campus of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, use light to provide color and shape. A mosaic of different spaces grouped around interior courtyards, the campus openly interfaces with the city and creates a protected sanctuary for the LGBTQ community. Lines of light accentuate the building’s angular shape and linear recessed fixtures accentuate a warm, well-lit interior. With the ability to change color, the lighting in the stairway and underneath the dramatically cantilevered conference room creates a color-changing beacon of light for pride month. Discreet linear striplights help emphasize angular planter shapes, echoing the building’s angular exterior while area pole lights provide soft ambiance for a welcoming environment that is safe and secure.
