Magiche serre reali di Laeken (Bruxelles)

Questo articolo è dedicato ad un dei posti più magici ed esclusivi che abbia mai visitato: le Serres Royales de Laeken à Bruxelles.

Costruita principalmente durante l’impero di Leopoldo II il luogo è stato realizzato ispirandosi al crystal palace eretto a londra in occasione della great exhibition del 1851. Questo luogo spettacolare è formato da un giardino d’inverno coperto da una cupola e collegato ad una trentina di padiglioni tramite delle fantastiche gallerie dal cui soffitto pendono fiori di fucsia che caratterizzano perfettamente questi luoghi di passaggio.

Le sette serre furono costruite dall’architetto Balat, in collaborazione con il suo allievo Victor Horta (un allievo che divenne poi uno degli architetti art nouveau più famosi del panorama europeo ).

Purtroppo l’apertura al pubblico delle serre è estremamente rara, infatti vengono aperte le porte al pubblico solo 3 settimane l’anno, nel periodo di massima fioritura delle azalee.

Insomma,  ma credo che abbiate ormai capito che qui non si sta parlando del capriccio di un re, ma di una delle più grandi serre al mondo.

Credo che l’unico modo per raccontare questo luogo spettacolare dalla storia particolarmente interessante sia tramite delle fotografie; purtroppo, per il personaggio “fotografico” che c’è in me, la vista è stata guidata dal principe Philippe e sua moglie, la principessa Mathilde, dunque è stata vietata ogni tipo di riproduzione video…

Nonostante tutto però questa mattina sono riuscita a recuperare un po’ di foto per farvi entrare un po’ in questo luogo magico fatto di acciaio vetro e piante tropicali.

Mentre guardate le foto potete pensare di essere il principe che va a fare jogging in questi spazi, o la principessa alla quale si illuminano gli occhi alla vista dell’albero giapponese o per il corridoio di azalee.

This article is dedicated to the most magical and exclusive places I have ever visited: the “Serres Royales de Laeken”, in Bruxelles.

Primarily built during the reign of Leopold II , the creation of this place took inspirations from “the crystal palace” erected in London during the great exhibition of 1851.

This spectacular site is formed by a winter garden topped by a dome and connected to thirty hall with some great galleries with hanging fuchsia flowers hanging from the roof, that perfectly characterize these passageways.

The seven greenhouses were built by the architect Balat in collaboration with his pupil Victor Horta (a student who became one of the most famous Art Nouveau architects of the European landscape).

Unfortunately, the openness of the greenhouses is extremely rare, in fact the doors are opened to the public only 3 weeks a year, during the period of maximum flowering  of azaleas.

Well, but I think you have realized by now that here, we are not speaking of the whim of a king, but one of the largest greenhouses in the world.

I think the only way to describe this spectacular site, particularly interesting from history through photographs, but unfortunately, for the character “photographic” in me, the view was led by Prince Philippe and his wife, Princess Mathilde so it was forbidden any kind of video …

Despite everything, this morning I managed to recover a bit ‘of the picture for you to get a bit’ in this magic place made of glass and steel tropical plants.

As you look at the photos you can expect to be the prince who goes jogging in these spaces, or the Princess with sparkling eyes for the japanese tree or the hall azaleas.
