Taivallahti Spa Hotel

Avanto Architects won an invited competition for Taivallahti spa hotel in 2019. The star like volume is placed freely in the park to complement the nearby sports and bathing functions. The wings define four courtyards with different character that seamlessly blur to surroundings. The coastline pedestrian path circles around the building and allows the public to reach a new high quality park at the end of the peninsula. The rounded ends soften the long facades and refer to Töölö functionalist architecture heritage. The building frame is made of CLT elements and the facade is clad with wood.
