The Oakland Visitors Center serves as its embassy “outside the gates,” providing space for events as well as enhanced educational and public programming to increase access to and awareness of the historic cemetery.

It serves as home for the Historic Oakland Foundation and creates a formal arrival point for visitors from the local neighborhood and much farther away; a place for cars, school buses, and the outside world to be left behind; a prelude with views over the cemetery walls and toward the iconic west gate; and an opportunity to understand the intriguing relationship between Atlanta and this special place before experiencing it first-hand.
