Oak Pass

The Oak Pass Residence is located on a quiet private street in Beverly Hills.  The down sloping site dramatically opens up to the canyon below. The residence was designed to frame and emphasize its natural environment. The design inspiration was a refined tree house.The L volume of the house and landscaped downslope maximize privacy and allow the landscape to fully encompass the house.  The residence is respectful and dependent upon its surroundings yet uncompromising in its execution.

The master suite floats above the pool maximizing the views on both sides, the guest bedrooms tuck gently under an impressive 100-year oak tree in the north corner of the lot. The landscape climbs into the house with integrated suspended planters on the second level and a two-story atrium pierces the center of the residence. The materials were carefully selected and finished to be both refined yet natural and raw to soften the modern form and offer warmth to the residence both inside and out.
