This scenic workspace, offering stunning views of Downtown and Boston Harbor, embodies VHB’s core values of community and connection as well as their deep commitment to sustainability. VHB’s team of engineers were looking for a dynamic space that could effectively support their necessary independent work while also promoting collaboration and nurturing their social, collegial atmosphere.

Environmental stewardship lies at the heart of who VHB is and the work they do. Their new office offers a physical representation of this intersection between nature and city: rich biophilia, warm wood accents, organic shapes, and abundant daylight inform a natural aesthetic, while playful patterns and textured finishes sweep across a lush palette of greens and blues.

The layout of the office emphasizes flexibility and connection, with a balance of quiet and active spaces to create a comfortable, engaging workplace where employees can enjoy both community and uninterrupted focus time. A central café immerses employees and visitors in a warm community environment, while branching corridors taper to quieter areas without sacrificing a sense of cohesion and interconnectedness. Diverse furniture and space typologies – enclosed offices, open spaces, lounge seating, and recreational areas – equip employees with the necessary resources to perform effectively while welcoming individual agency.
