L-CITY

L-City is a megacomplex of several high-rise buildings with a cultural and social function, which together form an urban unit. Buildings are based on principle of L-system (repeating the same recursive function). This is reflected in the design of major structural core and related floors.

The objects were designed in programs Grasshopper, C # and Rhino, supporting parametric functions. 2D curves were generated following specified rules and modified into more complex geometry. Interesting ones were selected of these and consequently the shape of the tube and the urban layout were derived from these. Also floors were inspired by branching shapes produced by script. Construction following these principles incorporates some of advantages of spatial arrangement found in plant structures: diversity of forms, light distribution, branching and connection of communications.

The residential complex consists of interconnected clusters of buildings. They are then divided according to prevailing functions: culture, sport and housing to different zones. Beside an interesting and unusual form of the facade, this can prevent uniformity of living in densely populated areas, stereotypes and come up with a new form that could revive both the private and social life.
