Circular re-invents the tea salon for the contemporary consumer.

Founded in 2008 with the philosophy that “tea is fun,” David's Tea has grown from one store in downtown Toronto to more than 70 retail outlets across Canada. For their first stores in the United States, David's Tea turned to Brooklyn-based Circular to analyze their existing shop environments and come up with a fresh design to create a powerful retail brand experience.

Circular’s design solution re-invents the tea shop for the contemporary consumer, creating a cheerful, modern parlor where staff experts can educate shoppers and showcase the brand’s wide range of creative ingredients and flavors. As principal Jordan Parnass elaborates “Any notions of burlap sacks, fussy doilies and stuffy cozies were omitted in favor of foregrounding high quality ingredients and creating the best possible environment for sampling and brewing tea.”

The ash wood, Corian, and glass Tea Bar is at the heart of the David's Tea experience, and it is there that the highly trained staff carefully guide each customer on a journey to view, sniff and sample a range of teas to arrive at the perfect match. The Tea Wall behind the counter holds up to 120 varieties of straight teas and exclusive blends in color coded canisters. Each canister incorporates a custom lid which allows every customer to safely view and sniff fresh tea.
