Cello Tower and Origin at Symphony Park
Las Vegas, NV
A mixed-use district of essential programming in an evolving Downtown core.
Symphony Park as a district has reinvigorated the Downtown core of Las Vegas through the swift transformation of a site once used as a regional rail yard. In a district that has become a cultural and community nexus, this mixed-use project contributes a holistic urban environment that adds essential programming to propel the growth of Downtown, such as a grocery market, new residences, workplace, and retail. A landscaped and programmed pedestrian street acts as a connective thread and point for unique activation with cultural and community-focused placemaking.
Our design approach is a conversation between the bold iconography of Las Vegas and the desire for human-centric scaled experiences. Among the forefront of Downtown and at a heavily-trafficked intersection of transit, the design sets up the condominium tower as a distinctive marker that twists toward views of the skyline and the Spring Mountains. The layout also responds to the environment, using the height of the tower and its podium to form a comfortable microclimate where the building becomes a shading device.
The extension of Promenade Place becomes a pedestrian focused neighborhood flanked by terraces and landscape, presenting a different kind of scale and experience to the public spaces that have become symbols of Symphony Park.
