The Metropolitan at Phipps

The Metropolitan at Phipps brings luxury urban living to the border between Buckhead’s high rise commercial district and single-family neighborhoods.  On a prominent corner of Phipps Boulevard, these townhomes delicately balance city life with community and privacy.  Eleven townhomes flank two sides of the site, creating a central communal courtyard filled with lush landscaping.  Strategic openings in the courtyard floor light the driving court below, illuminating planting beds at the lower level that are designed to grow through the openings as part of the courtyard flora.

The architecture combines traditional, contextual materials with modern forms dictated by the interior living spaces.  Main entrances are accessed through the courtyard while garage entries occur discretely below.  Inside, open floor plans allow views across the main level while a central skylight-topped shaft vertically connects and illuminates all floors.  Generous bedrooms and bathrooms occupy the upper floors, culminating in a den and bar at the roof level featuring large glass doors that open onto an exterior terrace with views to the city beyond.
