服装店丨法国巴黎丨工作室Sonder的Arnaud Mielvaque

Founded only in 2022 by entrepreneurs Alain Duruy, Oscar Fassenot and Joachim Piry, online retailer suuupply quickly established a solid client base for their contemporary urban menswear offerings. And now, the trio have upped the ante, opening a standalone store, suuupply‘s very first, in what’s generally seen as one of the most fashionable shopping grounds in Paris—the Marais district. The standalone store occupies a 69 sqm. (743 sq.ft.) unit on the ground floor of a listed residential structure which was built in 1770. The suuupply founders tapped spatial designer Arnaud Mielvaque of studio Sonder to create a fitting interior design for the retail space. The chosen aesthetic, retro-luxury meets industrial, is captured by a pristine white drywall backdrop which conceals not only the the larger part of the boutique’s stone walls, but also the wiring and utility pipes.

Overhead, wooden beams and suspended tubular light fixtures add a dynamic visual element to the setting. Furnishings and fixtures comprise custom steel-and-faux-timber shelving and display units, and matching display counters and wall panels. Mind you, the faux-timber has been crafted by Dutch designer Lotte Schoots. The shelving units come with discreetly embedded LED strips, illuminating the structure while also adding a luxurious touch to the design. Additionally, a series of tightly curated dot the premises, including 1970s chrome Lotus and Clipper stools by Japanese designer Yasuaki Sasamoto for Dulton, and an elegant 1960s Link bench by American artist John Behringer for Fabry Associates. The new suuupply store stocks a curated selection of brands, including Japan Blue Jeans, Sebago, Drake’s, Joshua Ellis, Clarks, Port Tanger, and affiliated label Museum Garments. © superfuture
