在798这样的艺术社区,人们往往带着参与艺术的预期而来。在多数公共空间被功能所固化的当下,我们尝试以形态的创造促进互动,进而营造一处“意义的停顿”。试图以空间为媒介,让科技、艺术与公共生活交织,构建一种可感知、能回应、更具生命力的城市文化现场。
缘起Genesis
在AI迅速融入生活并参与创作的当下,“技术”与“人”的关系再度成为焦点,引发更深入的关注与思考。如何在AI时代保持人独有的感知与表达,同时又借助科技探寻未来美学与人文生活的更多可能性?这也正是首届“798艺术与科技周”试图回应的命题。
As AI rapidly integrates into daily life and participates in creative acts, the relationship between “technology” and “the human” has once again come into sharp focus, prompting deeper contemplation. How can we maintain uniquely human perception and expression in the age of AI, while simultaneously harnessing technology to explore greater possibilities for future aesthetics and humanistic living? This is precisely the proposition that the inaugural “798 Art & Tech Week” seeks to address.

在此背景下,我们受委托为“798艺术与科技周”设计几组空间装置,旨在为艺术家作品提供展陈载体,同时使空间本身也成为装置作品,参与到城市维度下科技与人文的对话之中。
Against this backdrop, we were commissioned to design a series of spatial installations for the event. The goal was dual: to provide a display vehicle for the artists’ works and to allow the spatial constructs themselves to become installations, participating in the urban-scale dialogue between technology and humanism.

装置一——呼吸云朵Installation One — Breathing Cloud
这是一个设计周期短、展期仅为15天的项目,需兼顾快速搭建与展后物料回收。我们选用盘扣式脚手架、阳光板与气模的组合构建装置,展示艺术家关于科技与艺术的装置作品。展陈空间既延续科技的硬核质感,也试图成为科技与人文之间的柔和介质。
This was a project with a short design and production timeline, as well as an exhibition period of only 15 days, necessitating a balance between rapid assembly and post-exhibition material reclamation. We employed a material palette of cup-lock scaffolding, polycarbonate panels, and an inflatable membrane to construct the installation, which housed artworks that explore the intersection of technology and art.The exhibition space seeks to extend the hardcore sensibility of technology while serving as a mediator between tech and humanity.

设计通过几组对比关系凸显主题:理性与感性、刚硬与柔软、直线与曲面。方与圆、规则与圆融在此并置。云朵气模占地182平方米,顶高9米,以三个落地支点形成稳定的结构体系,两两之间内蕴拱形力学形态,既为装置提供支撑,又塑造出轻盈的视觉轮廓。气模顶部设有一处菱形天井,不仅丰富空间形态,更有效引导气流疏散,避免“帐篷效应”带来的风压风险,显著提升整体抗风性能。三处支点底部以配重稳固,确保在大风天气中基部岿然不动,而顶部则能如呼吸般轻微摇曳,赋予装置一种生动的结构表情。

这一结构逻辑,自然地界定出一个大型的灰空间,与底部的三个展厅融为一体,勾勒出朦胧而柔软的边界。在此结构基础上,气模表皮的灯光随呼吸节奏变换色彩,以充满生命感的拟人化方式,柔和地衔接起外部798工业厂房的街区氛围与展厅内部充满科技感的展品。
This structural logic naturally defines a large, in-between gray space, integrating with the three exhibition volumes below to outline a soft, ambiguous boundary. Building upon this framework, lighting embedded within the inflatable membrane changes color with a rhythmic, breathing pattern. This personification imbues the structure with a sense of life, softly bridging the industrial ambiance of the 798 neighborhood with the technology-laden exhibits within.

装置二——镜像世界
Installation Two — Mirror World
同样采用盘扣式脚手架、阳光板与气模,“镜像世界”更强调秩序与混沌的辩证。通过对脚手架体系的深入研究,我们以0.9米为模数搭建主框架,横向9排、纵向7排,构建出具有强烈秩序感的网格空间。该模数体系亦可根据展品需求与场地条件灵活调整尺度。
Also constructed from cup-lock scaffolding, polycarbonate panels, and an inflatable membrane, “Mirror World” emphasizes the dialectic between order and chaos. Through in-depth study of the scaffolding system, we established a 0.9-meter module to build the primary frame—9 bays horizontally and 7 bays vertically—creating a grid space with a strong sense of order. This modular system allows for flexible adjustment of spatial dimensions according to exhibition needs and site conditions.

框架界定出多个0.9×0.9×1米的立方单元,在如此秩序之中,每个单元内嵌入直径75毫米的银色镜面球体。球体反射周围万物,彼此之间更互映成象,构筑出一个视觉上无限延伸的空间。这种混沌而无限的意象,既打破了既定秩序,又重塑了新的秩序。环境、展品与观者共同进入镜像世界,在此虚拟维度中交织共存。

The frame delineates numerous cubic cells measuring 0.9m × 0.9m × 1m. Within this rigorous order, a 75mm-diameter silver mirrored sphere is embedded in each cell. The spheres reflect everything around them, and their mutual reflections create infinite regress, constructing a visually boundless space. This chaotic, infinite imagery simultaneously breaks and reconstructs order. The environment, the artworks, and the viewers collectively enter this mirror world, becoming intertwined within its virtual dimension.

后记Postscript
时间与造价的限制是本项目的重要挑战,却也成为设计的契机。从设计到落地仅21天,每一步皆环环相扣。观众在观看展览的同时,也不断与装置互动、分享,这份流动的欣喜正是我们所试图弥合的艺术与科技之间的缝隙。也希望这些装置能在城市与街区的尺度中,成为一个温情而柔软的中介,唤起更多关于科技、人文与未来的对话。

Constraints of time and budget were significant challenges for this project, yet they also became catalysts for design. From conception to realization in just 21 days, each step was intricately linked. While viewing the exhibition, the audience continuously interacted with and shared experiences of the installations. This fluid delight represents the very gap between art and technology we sought to bridge. We also hope these installations can act, on an urban and neighborhood scale, as a warm and soft intermediary, inspiring more dialogue about technology, humanity, and the future.
