And the wind, that rough lover, Comes whispering through the bare limbs, Telling secrets the leaves no longer care to hear......

Coherent narrative

This is the season of letting go, Of soft goodbyes, of turning inward, Like a snail retracting into its shell, Like the moon pulling back its light......

Soon the ground will be thick with them, A carpet of rust and gold, And we will walk on them, crunching, Remembering summer as a distant, bright shore......
