Marmo Di Botticino
This project investigates how materials extracted from the Marmo di Botticino quarry in Brescia can be reused on-site, creating a closed-loop system that blurs the line between extraction and consumption. In this process, the quarry itself becomes a storyteller, narrating its own transformation.
Here, subtraction is not just material removal — it becomes a generative design tool. The visoids left behind define spatial identity, encouraging reflection on absence, depth, and renewal. Climbing the quarry transforms intangible heritage and memory into a tangible, bodily experience, grounding abstract narratives in space and movement.
