40 m² Relax House | Minimal Wooden Retreat

This project explores a compact 40 m² relaxation house, designed as a quiet retreat focused on comfort, atmosphere, and simplicity rather than size.

The house is conceived as a single open living volume, carefully organized to support daily rituals of rest, warmth, and connection to nature.

Despite its small footprint, the layout includes:

Sauna

Bathroom with shower

Kitchen-bar

Dining area

Living space with fireplace

Design Concept

The design is driven by material honesty and calm contrasts:

Natural oak wood for warmth and tactility

White concrete surfaces for clarity and balance

Large glass openings to dissolve the boundary between inside and outside

The fireplace acts as the spatial and emotional center, anchoring the living area and reinforcing the idea of the house as a place for slowing down.

Open-plan layout to maximize perceived space

Carefully framed views through glass

Minimal partitions to maintain visual continuity

Emphasis on light, texture, and proportions rather than decoration
