Lower Level Office Finish, Eagan
When working with clients on finishing lower levels (please never say basement…yuck!) the majority of the projects are for homes that were built within the last 10 years. The majority of those clients bought (or built) the home when starting a family and now the kids are bigger and we need-more-space-now!
However, this recent project was completed for a couple that have a thriving business coordinating African Safari Adventures throughout the Serengeti in Tanzania. After working with them I have never wanted and African adventure so bad in my whole life. Defiantly high on the bucket-list! Check out their site for inspiration
What they needed was more space to run the business. Obviously, being based out of Eagan MN, most of the coordination is planned via internet so a storefront is unnecessary. What is necessary is more office space …and quick!
Here is the reception area at the base of the stairs. *Note: One bummer about lower level finishes is the ‘befores’ are non-to dramatic!
Custom designed office space to comfortably seat four.
Fabulous custom maple kitchenette with raised panel cabinets.
Check out the Jurassic Black granite tops! Notice the stones that look fosilized? The tops are matched up perfectly with the marble and glass accent strip in the backsplash.
Jurassic Black is a conglomerate. Conglomerates are formed when molten lava is heated, cooled, and then solidified with the rocks still in it. The lava cools before the stones have a chance to liquefy. Thousands of years later it is my favorite choice for wet bars! It does’t get more organic looking than this and (to me) it adds to the African look I was trying to incorporate into the project.
We continued the looking into the bathroom with the Jurassic Black and Oil Rubbed Bronze fixtures.
Love this look? Call me for your next project!
