Founded in 1955 and headquarted in the Chicagoland region is The Panduit Corporation. As global manufacturing opportunities outside the U.S. have grown in the past years, the owners found themselves with this vacant manufacturing space and a need to re-purpose the industrial buildings into corporate research and development with the goal to further support its commitment to quality communication technology solutions.

Linden Group design team worked with a construction manager from the start of the design process to develop a project which matched the owner's needs and budget. Transforming the aged 760,000 square foot, all-steel, industrial building was a challenge given the lack of thermal insulation for both walls and roof. We drew inspiration from the owner's "dot-com" brand translating the communication giant's modern vibe into a dramatic facade utilizing: curtain wall system, floating canopies, punctuated and undulating ACM panels, and exposed cast in place concrete with ribbed horizontal metal panels.

The design approach delivers optimal efficiency without sacrificing effectiveness and significantly reduces capital and operational expenses in the buildings while enhancing productivity, safety, reliability, and sustainability.
