Cartier, located on a prominent corner of Shinsaibashi, a high-end shopping district of Osaka, shares an intersection with the metallic and glassy exteriors of Apple, Nike and Burberry. By contrast, its 3-dimensional wooden facade brings a refreshing warmth to the commercial area. It embodies environmentally conscious design, local artisanship, and inspires visitors to see Cartier and its city location in a new light.

Materials and construction techniques were all carefully chosen, from the Japan-sourced hinoki wood (Japanese cypress) and its recycled aluminum structural framework to the meticulous craftsmanship of Kyoto carpenters.
