Designed by Foster and Partners, Nujuma’s sweeping shell-inspired architecture and elegant interiors are crafted with natural materials such as stone, carved timber, burnished metalwork and clay. Geometric patterns drawn from regional design motifs create a strong sense of place.

Our natural clay plaster was specified in several key spaces to complement the architects’ vision of low-impact construction, and design that harmonises with the environment.

One of the signature spaces within Nujuma is Maia, an intimate astrology-inspired mocktail bar inspired by the Arabic word nujum, meaning “stars”. Here, our clay provides a natural, acoustically supportive backdrop to the ceiling’s constellation lighting, while grounding the space with tactile warmth.

In the Neyrah Spa and hammam, our purely mineral Tadelakt plaster regulates humidity and supports the calming atmosphere. Outside, our exterior finish complements the rope-clad structures in the open-air yoga pavilion, blending seamlessly with the beautiful, natural setting.

Designed with a light touch approach in mind, the low-density structures are nestled within the landscape. The units have been carefully planned to protect the precious ecology of the Red Sea islands for future generations.
