We were invited by UNSW to explore options to re-imagine the existing UNSW cricket field as a multi-use recreational precinct. The sunken circular form of the existing cricket field is retained and outlined with a running track. The interior is populated with courts for basketball, netball, handball, soccer, tennis, volleyball and table tennis. An additional series of recreation facilities are distributed around the edges of the field including a lap and leisure pool, skate park, fitness stations, skate park, picnic areas and club house. The precinct was designed to be used by the university community for formal and informal recreation year round from early morning to late evening.
