Millie

‘Millie’ is a new 58 unit development that has been designed for one of the Gateway sites into the Molonglo area of Canberra. It is a highly prominent site on Cotter Road when approaching from the Western Creek edge of Molonglo and therefore needed to be a high quality and striking development.

The brief for the site was to provide a mix of apartments and townhouses ranging from affordable 2 bedroom dwellings up to generous 3 bedroom dwellings suited for family living. Some other major parts of the brief were; to work with the natural contours of the site to minimise cut, to construct the building of robust materials to ensure longevity, and to ensure all the plan types were highly functional for the end users. After detailed review of the site constraints and the brief the team landed on a concept that ticked all the boxes which included 24 Apartments and 34 Townhouses.
