Bootstrap Buildings → Affordable workspaces in Dalston
Bootstrap Charity provides affordable workspace, training and events from Printhouse in Hackney, London.
Erect Architecture reconfigured the building’s communal areas and forecourt and created a legible, welcoming and spacious home for Bootstrap Gallery, various retain outlets and the many micro-businesses which call Printhouse their home.
Rear entrances are secured with new gates. Their CNC-cut patterns are generated from the historic building signage.
The interior was stripped back to expose original features. The new rough sawn oak counter acts as entrance centre piece.
The project was the first of many transforming this part of London into a buzzing hub of streetlife.
