Working closely with the client, our expert team surveyed, templated, and installed tailored glass elements to elevate every space in the home.

Overview

Curved Glass Balustrade

A standout feature of the entrance hall, the curved glass balustrade follows the flow of a bespoke spiral staircase. Fixed with brushed stainless steel studs into the staircase stringer, the balustrade is finished with a hand-stitched leather handrail and spotlighting, achieving both form and function in perfect balance.

Steam and Shower Room

A sleek, monochrome steam and shower room showcases intelligent glass solutions with high gloss black glass cabinet doors and panels. A bespoke frameless glass shower door, treated with PermaClean for easy maintenance, opens into the steam area—blending seamless functionality with dramatic visual impact.

Curved Shower Screen

In the main bathroom, Ion installed one of its most specialist products: a curved, frameless glass shower screen from the Caspian range. Set into discreet channels with minimal stainless steel fittings, the design complements the dome ceiling, custom lighting, and rich indigo glass tiling—bringing Art Deco style into the modern day.

Sandblasted Glass Display Shelves

To complete the project, Ion designed and installed 20 custom sandblasted glass shelves for a curated vase collection. A single lighting unit and minimal fixtures were used to mount the shelves into a stone wall, creating a clean, contemporary display that highlights the vases without distraction.

Technical Information

Ion surveyed, templated and installed a curved glass balustrade to complement the client’s bespoke made spiral staircase to their entrance hall. The glass balustrade is fixed using brushed stainless steel studs, bolted directly into the staircase stringer. Spotlights and a hand stitched leather handrail enhance the elegance of this beautiful project.

The creation of a luxurious steam and shower room lent itself to a range of intelligent glass solutions. The stunning striped monochrome steamroom uses marble wall cladding and worktops then integrates black glass cabinet doors and panels with a high gloss effect. Ion installed a bespoke glass shower door, leading to the shower and steam area. The frameless glass door is manufactured in toughened glass with PermaClean to ensure minimal cleaning and maintenance.

In the main bathroom a curved shower enclosure was installed from Ion’s Caspian range – one of Ion’s most specialist shower screens. The completely frameless curved glass shower screen is set into channels on the walls with minimal glass to glass stainless steel fittings. The curved shower combines contemporary design with 1930’s Art Deco style. Special lighting effects enhance the dome shaped ceiling and indigo glass tiling.

The final part of the project involved the design and installation of sandblasted glass shelves to house a collection of contemporary vases. Ion designed a single unit to accommodate lighting and minimal fixtures to the stone wall. Following sample sign off we produced 20 glass units and worked on site with our metalworker during installation. The result is a beautiful set of contemporary units, minimalist in style to display the vases to their full potential.
