This residential development comprises 32 four-storey ‘units’, some in pairs and others in a terrace, each of which is based on a typical layout of a duplex sitting above two single-storey apartments. Access to all the apartments is gained via straight staircases rising three storeys through the various buildings.

Designed around the theme of a contemporary ‘boutique’ resort, each floor level is progressively set back from the one below, thereby creating outdoor terraces and garden areas for every apartment which, when provided with sun shading in the form of overhangs, pierced screens and trellises, create the perfect environment for indoor/outdoor living.

Continuing the resort theme, a generously proportioned clubhouse stands at the heart of the scheme, providing a centre for communal activities while also helping to establish an appropriate brand identity for the development as a whole. The building is conceived as a floating glass volume raised above street level on a slender triangular core, around which is wrapped a series of timber screens. Carefully positioned to provide shade where it is most needed within, the overall composition of the screens takes on the appearance of a cloud formation, giving the building a signature quality.
