Together with Gaia Vesterålen, Museum Nord, the Artic university of Norway and Reno Vest, Lundhagem has been developing a project of a fully circular landmark building made from discarded containers from the fishing industry in Vesterålen, in Norway.

The ambition is to build a museum in Sortland harbour with the highest recycling rate realized in large construction processes. The plan is having a recycling level of 95%, the highest rate in major construction processes.

The building will be made from recycled materials and will be climate neutral in both construction and operation. Inside the museum, there will be an advanced high-tech model of Vesterålen, a model that addresses the past, present and future through 16 selected themes.

This project has received EU-funding under the Horizon Europe program to research the reuse of concrete in a 4-year sub-project called CIRC-BOOST.
