Outermost
For this property hugging a cliff some 140 feet above the Atlantic, the client asked for a “tree house” – a structure set above the canopy of oaks and foliage – with an unobstructed ocean view. The home is zoned into three parallel linear volumes, clad largely in naturally weathered boards, glass, and copper. A long deck, inspired in form by a pontoon outrigger, is connected to the house by three bridges. The design elegantly weaves the legacy of midcentury modern architecture with the romance of the Cape Cod maritime tradition.
