Warm Hearted House House
\ WEMBLEY - PERTH
CLIENT STORY
In the leafy suburb of Wembley, Warm Hearted House, affectionately named by its homeowners, is a place where the feeling of being 'truly at home' comes to life.
Designed by Studio Atelier and completed in 2022, this renovation and extension breathes new energy into a previously-dated Californian Bungalow. From the streetscape, the home retains its classic charm, but stepping inside reveals an abundance of natural light that blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The seamless blend of old and new respects the past while embracing the present and possibilities of the future.
Surrounding the home, native gardens create a sense of calm and offer hidden spots for playful moments in nature.
Designed for a creative young family, the interiors reflect their personality, with walls filled with art, treasures from their travels, and lush greenery at every turn. The thoughtful floor plan connects the original bungalow to a new open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space, which flows effortlessly into the backyard and a versatile studio/garage, complete with a rock-climbing wall—reflecting the famili’s love for adventure.
Warm Hearted House has been designed to evolve with its owners, providing a welcoming backdrop for all stages of life. It’s a space that’s not only approachable and inviting but also a joy to experience—a true reflection of what it means to feel at home.
