Weilheim
Weilheim
info
info
The project in Weilheim is a complex conglomerate with diverse program – two halls, workshops and company dwelling – and two different construction methods – parts of the building are in steel and the others are made of a conventional solid construction.
Like a homogenizing shell the cheap steel sandwich panels are put over everything – even over the two solid structures. For the hall area these panels are probably the cheapest and quickest installed external walls available on the market. Where the solid/massive buildings are the shell/panels, however, become an abstract and decidedly decorative and even economically wasteful – „papery“ looking skin of the building.
The order of the facades occurs merely by the placement of holes in the skin. Where the halls are the windows are in a regular rhythm and where the building is massive the windows are placed in an arbitrary composition.
