Concept

「カフェカイラ」はハワイに2011年より、2年連続で「ベストブレックファースト賞」に輝いたハワイアンパンケーキのお店です。

カフェカイラが東京の表参道に出店すると言うことで僕がデザインさせていただきました。「ハワイの気持ちいい朝」をデザインコンセプトに掲げ、ハワイの心地良い風を感じれるような空間を目指しました。とは言え…僕に与えられた空間は地下フロアーと言うこともあり、ハワイを具象的に表現するのではなく、抽象的にデザインしました。キッチンは…ワイキキビーチに建ち並ぶラグジュアリーホテルのビーチサイドのオープンキッチン…ホール中央の席は強い日差しを避けるように佇むテラス席…通路側は、オアフ島にある大きな木（モンキーポッド）の木陰をイメージしたガーデン席…っと言ったように僕の記憶を辿りながらイメージを一つ一つコラージュしながら、僕なりの「ハワイの気持ちのいい朝」を表現出来たと思う。

“Café Kaila” is a shop of the Hawaiian pancake which had shined in “Best Breakfast Prize” for two consecutive years since 2011 in Hawaii.

When Café Kaila opened a store in Omotesando, I designed it. I advocated “the comfortable morning in Hawaii” in a design concept and aimed for the space where you feel Hawaiian comfortable wind. However, the space that I was given was a floor under the ground. So, I designed it abstractly. The open kitchen of the beach side of the luxury Hotel that Waikiki Beach, the terrace seats locate avoiding the strong sunlight in the hall center, the passage side seats are the garden seats which imagines the shade of a tree of the big tree (a monkey pod) in Oahu island. I searched my memory and paired it and design. I think I was able to express “Hawaiian comfortable morning”.
