Clerestory

This 1900 square foot residence lives large with a generously proportioned sliding glass door opening to a private sunny patio. A lofty clerestory hat of high windows lets sunlight pour in throughout the day; each season unique.

The efficient but comfortable single story courtyard plan keeps the two bedrooms modest is size, allocating the bulk of the total footage to a single combined loft-like kitchen, dining, living space. The house tucks snugly and modestly into a gentle slope, greeting you with an eye pleasing view of its low-slung green roof covered with sedums and grasses. The planted roof-scape mitigates rain water flow to an adjacent ravine, as well as expresses of the owners’ enthusiasm for gardening and environmental stewardship.

We feel sheepish when these loving clients continue to shower us with compliments about their house, but we never tire of hearing them shout “we never want to move!” They are the perfect example of why we do what we do. Thank you.
