Extending in two directions can completely transform smaller properties such as bungalows, and with this project we did just that. By changing the shape of the roof and raising the roof ridge slightly, we were able to add another floor to the home, doubling the number of bedrooms and making this home fit for a family. The space is the roof was further utilised by the addition of dormers to both the front and rear which extend the useable floor space as well as giving the exterior of the house some character, setting it apart from the rest of the street.

A side extension and considerable internal alterations to the ground floor creates a better flow throughout the house and allows for more open plan living. A new peninsula kitchen with bar seating, a dining space and a living area around a log burner creates the ideal space for all the family to enjoy as well as entertaining guests.

The sliding doors with minimal frames allow light to pour in and facilitate a better connection to the garden and a small snug just off this open space creates an area of seclusion, giving a variety of different spaces to the home.
