Shore Car Club

Shore Car Club is a 40,000 square foot private members club located in ocean township NJ. SCC was conceived as an exclusive members car house, clubroom and event space for collectors and enthusiasts. SCC provides an exclusive calendar of events, programming, secure auto storage, and auto collection management services. The mission is to provide our members exclusive access to the highest level of secure private auto maintenance and storage for the their prized vehicles. SCC believes in the value of community which we embody though the our programming, events and spaces.

Shore Car Club . Ocean Township NJ

In 2021, Marc Thorpe, Architect and Designer was approached by the Gold family, founders of the SCC, to design the branding and identity of the newly conceived private members automotive club. The SCC’s identity is rooted in the coastal location and township of Ocean, neighboring the infamous Asbury Park and Deal NJ, the club embraces the sun kissed beach front atmosphere of the surrounding area. Fun & Sophisticated became the aesthetic attitude of the SCC brand. This identity was to be delivered and imbedded into every aspect of the club’s genetics including the logo, messaging, color and material pallet, visual marketing, advertising as well as digital and physical collateral. Based on Marc Thorpe’s holistic design approach he also conceived of how the identity would translate to the interiors, lighting and building itself.

In 2022, Marc Thorpe Design + Architecture in collaboration with long time partners JBA Collective and Loop Lighting set out on the design and development of the SCC club building and interior. The 40,000 sqft club building designed for auto enthusiasts and collectors hosts a street level open air lobby, 5000 sqft open plan club lounge with central bar/cafe, full service kitchen, work spaces, conference room, private dining, library, simulator room, outdoor terraces and roof garden as well as the central showroom/event space. The dominate space of the club is the monumental storage facility seamlessly integrated into club spaces via glass reveals throughout the club. Members of the SCC can store their classic, exotic and collector cars in the main garage hosting 80-100 spaces with an additional 14 private garages designed to accommodate 28 cars. All memberships include 24/7 security monitoring, access controlled, air controlled, carbon monoxide protected, valet service, trickle chargers, EV charging stations and two indoor wash bays.

The Shore Car Club’s establishment in Ocean NJ in 2025 not only offers itself as an auto enthusiasts haven but presents itself as a purveyor of culture with a focus on the arts, food and travel. With its expansive exhibition spaces and service facilities, the SCC offers itself as a platform for artists, designers, musicians, writers, chefs as well as local, national and international institutions, organizations and brands to activate the club, bringing Ocean New Jersey a new cultural hub.
