Dutch Cultural Sports Association

NCS is an umbrella organization that provides administrative and legal support for sports associations in the Netherlands. Its members consist of legal entities and, based on humanistic values, try to form a social bond between all kinds of sports, athletes and sports organizations. The new office, in Amsterdam-North, needed to be filled. We conceived and delivered the interior project from A to Z, a successful turn-key project.

Design

Through an analysis and mood check, we were able to establish the identity and determine the corresponding style. The Nordic Light style symbolizes NCS's open, businesslike and accessible characteristics and was therefore immediately preferred. The name actually indicates what the style stands for: Scandinavian shapes, soft tones and transparent materials. Furthermore, materials such as wood and stone were used to give the light Scandinavian interior a warm and homely touch.

Realization

Sport is a big theme for NCS and therefore helps promote employee happiness. Playful elements with a nod to sports have therefore been well received. Like the conference table from the Dutch brand

Planq

is made from an old gym floor. Hence the name Gym Floor table.

For the workstations, we looked specifically at ergonomics. NCS therefore visited our showroom to look at several desks. The choice was quickly made, namely the PiqNiq desk from

Vepa

. The workstations are complemented by mid-height acoustic partitions and the acoustic Under The Bell felt lamp by Muuto.

Featured products

For us it was a logical choice to add Scandinavian brands. You can see this immediately in the kitchen, where the space is illuminated by the Eiffel lamp from

Frama

. Within the theme, the classic

String

wall cabinet system perfectly. The light shelves, transparent materials and also the modular system make this cabinet ideal for office spaces.

Several walls have a green/gray hue which fits perfectly with the Nordic Light theme. Added to this is an oak PVC floor from Kempers Inrichters. This matches the wooden furniture of the kitchen.
